As the 1st XV take a well earned rest next Saturday we look ahead to the remainder of the season. We have just five league games left to turn the season around, but there are absolutely winnable fixtures and as we know the lads will continue to give 100% for the cause.

Our attention also turns to the Papa Johns Cup. The thrilling games that this competition delivered for us last year will last long in the memory, and this years fixtures should be their equal , although it is disappointing to have been given two away games once again.

Nonetheless it is an exciting draw with a mixture of new opposition (Anselmanians,) teams that we know well (Cleckheaton) and renewing an old rivalry (Penrith) from our time in the NE2 Division.

Although there is no 1st XV Fixture next Saturday the 2nd XV have a very attractive home game against Dearne Valley RUFC. Please note that scheduled kick off time is 12:30 to allow both sides to watch the six nations games in the clubhouse afterwards. Its been tough finding fixtures for the 2nd XV of late. In recent weeks they have been let down by both Ilkley and Harrogate who were both unable to field a team. This has been incredibly disappointing for the players, so lets get together and really give them some support on Saturday.
