Appointment of new PRUFC designated Safeguarding Officer

Every organisation that works with children requires a designated Safeguarding Officer.

Here at Pontefract RUFC our new Safeguarding Officer is Andy Tucker: telephone 07793 052996.

His role is to:

· Supervise and oversee the wellbeing of children (aged 17 years and below) at the Club

· Ensure we as a Club meet our child protection obligations

· Implement (and update) our safeguarding policies and procedures

· Ensure everyone involved (parents, children, staff, volunteers) are aware of the policies

· Receive reports of concerns about a child from others

· If necessary, make referrals to statutory agencies

· Maintain accurate child protection records

· Advise the Executive Committee of best safeguarding practice and any safeguarding concerns.
