Following the resignation of Chairman Steve Hough, the club are pleased to confirm that former Chair Phil Atkinson has agreed to fulfil the role on an interim basis until the next AGM.
Steve's son, former Ponte player Josh is now playing for Leeds Tykes, and understandably Steve wants to attend their matches. He is still a committed Pomfretian though as he summed up below in his own words:
"Ponte has been my club since I was 16 and that never changed when I played for Wakefield and Rotherham. It won't change now."
The club thanks Steve for his leadership through the highs and lows of promotion and relegation. He has also been instrumental in the refurbishment of the Clubhouse and many other off the field projects. He will continue on the Committee and in his role as Head Groundsman.
Phil who was chairman between 2019 and 2022 said:
Steve has been a fantastic Chairman. The club is in good health and I am looking forward to carrying on his work.
The 1st XV play tomorrow at Old Bodleian's at 3pm. Both teams are unbeaten so please come out and support the lads. m
