Pontefract Take Part in Festival of Walking Rugby

Phil Atkinson15 Mar - 08:26

New Players Always Welcome

The sessions are inclusive and we welcome men and women of all abilities. If you want to get some exercise and have some fun please do come along.

On a sadly blank weekend for senior rugby at Moor Lane the Walking Rugby Section of the club took centre stage on Saturday. Walking Rugby is a none contact inclusive variant of the game. Since its introduction to Pontefract last May a regular session takes place all year round on Tuesday evenings at 7pm. We welcome men and women of all abilities. If you want to get some exercise and have some fun please do come along.

The team travelled to York on Saturday morning to take part in a festival which involved five other teams, from Pocklington (x2,) Wharfedale, Wath on Dearne and York. It was a welcome change to play against different opposition and to benchmark our playing standard. With further similar events planned around Yorkshire throughout the summer we are looking forward to some more days out.

Our thanks to everyone at York (especially Tim Godson) for organising the day and providing first class hospitality.
