There can be few people in Pontefract whose families haven't been touched by the hospice in some way.
- Phil Atkinson - Chairman

After a break of two years the Prince of Wales Hospice fundraising team are delighted that their very popular Cyclothon is returning. Unfortunately the traditional location of Pontefract Park cannot be used this year, and so PRUFC were only too pleased to offer their facilities for the event.

The event takes place on June 19th, and offers riders a choice of three routes. These cover 20 miles, 41 miles and 89 miles. Adrian Greenwood of Prince of Wales Hospice explained the significance of these distances. A bed in the hospice costs £20 per hour to run, whereas a nurse costs £41K per year, and the charity was founded in 1989. Its our way or raising awareness of the running costs that we face.

Its sure to be a great event. Phil Atkinson, Chairman of PRUFC, said "I would urge all our members and friends to get on their bikes for this fantastic fund raising event. There can be few people in Pontefract whose families haven't been touched by the hospice in some way. Please sign up now and help the hospice continue to provide the outstanding care that it does so well.
