I started as captain of the reformed 3rd tean out of the Pythons and U17's with one goal to get a team out most weeks we ended up playing 23 games winning 6 drawing 2 losing 15 however we drew our first game then lost the next 8 games. Every week we have improved and by the end of the season we where playing some very good rugby but most of all enjoying our rugby.
A staggering 72 players turned out for the 3rds this season top try scorers Danny Wheater with 12 Jonny Hill 8 Ben Jones 5
We welcomed some new faces to the team Jonny Hill James Jenkins Steve Beech and Jonathan Golsworth but the highlight has been seeing the young players come on this season credit to Paul Banfield and Mark Edwards for developing these youngsters Phil Lane James Griffen Danny Wheater Ben Jones James Edwards Kev Cording Will Storey Kyle Knox Jake Telford Jordon Lee Blake Tamms. In the next couple of seasons many of these will go on to play first team rugby.
I would also like to thank on behalf of the 3rd team everyone who gives up thier free time to make our club what it is.From chairman Alan Boyd to the committee the people who sweep the changing rooms paint the ground etc without them we woulnt have a club.
