U13 Pontefract V Sandal

The U13 girls played Sandal down at Moor Lane today and it turned out to be a very competitive game with Pontefract coming out on top. During the game Ponte battled hard with some big tackles from Kaitlin Varley and Ayva Smith as it was a very physical game. Some great runs were made by Amelia Robinson and Maisy Houchin on the wings. Ponte were the first to score with Millie Morgan breaking the line to score first followed shortly after by a try from Kaitlin. Sandal battled hard and managed to score a try in the second half to make the final score 2-1. All girls showed great determination and team spirit. We decided to play a second game with two Sandal girls joining our team. Again it was a very competitive game with both teams battling hard. Following some great team passing Esme Hayle managed to squeeze over the line to score the first try set up by Rosie Arnold . The game was intense with Sandal stretching our defence but we held our line with all the girls staying strong. With a scrum 10m from Sandals try line Holly Hicks placed the ball in the pack and managed to receive it making a great side step and dive for the line making the score 2-0.
