Ponte started off slow with complacency and focus missing. Despite this 3 tries were scored, a powerful driving maul was touched down by impressive prop Tom Webley, a second by Tom Papworth and a third by Alfie Abbott all goaled by Abbott.
21-0 at halftime. The talk at half time was led by captains Dowd and Wilson were calling for consistency and structure to ensure a much more rounded performance.
Ponte started the second half in a much more composed manner. Backs and forwards alike worked simultaneously to ensure hard yards were made by forwards Wilson, Brown, Courtney-Brown, Ludewig and Goodall. Backs Tam-McMillan, Wallis contributed some hard yards that were well supported. With a defence led by Jex, Wilson and Stephens continued to keep Mosborough to nil.
Soon a flurry of tries came, King of Fashion Oli Mitchell once again impressed with a score, winger Stepan Klodner rounded off a great team move to score in the corner. Grant backing up and rounding off his great performance with a try. Papworth added a second and third to once again show his elusive nature topping the try scorer chart. Elliott Stephens once again backed up a great Pontefract move to add another.
The highlight of the day was big prop forward Webley adding his second a 50 yard try with great footwork and a ridiculous show and go.
Abbott, Stephens and Grant guided the team around the field. With Abbott going 9/11 from the tee.
Once again a great team performance with 3 points going to Stephens, 2 to the impressive Webley and 1 being shared by hat trick hero Papworth and Defensive leader Jex.
