Pontefract started off the stronger of the 2 teams with a well worked try form Chelsea senior in the first 2 minutes. Pontefract kept the pressure on Scarborough with some well worked moves in attack but the final ball was a little sloppy . With 15 minutes gone some quick hands put Jodie Blackburn in for the second try for Pontefract. Just before half time Chelsea senior went in for her second and third try for Pontefract. The second half started and Pontefract started really slow, with Scarborough going in for 2 quick tries which brought the game back to 15 - 10 to Pontefract. After the second try from Scarborough, Pontefract picked it up a gear with some great passing which put Chloe Reynolds through for a try. Not long after Abby Cromack carved the Scarborough defence open, which put her through for the final try of the game. The game finished 25 - 10 to Pontefract which crowned their first win in the Yorkshire Cup. There was some impressive performances from Liv Beresford, Charlotte Robinson, Chloe Marsh, Chelsea Senior, Nyah Morris and Millie Potts , but the player of the game went to Aislinn O'Connor for her strong runs and hard work in defence.
