Seconds do double against Dinnington

Pontefract 2nds early errors delayed their normally ferocious start and visitors Dinnington 2nds were able to establish
themselves before Pontefract pressure finally produced two penalties that allowed the home sides goal kicker Liam Kay to get points on the board.

Ponte were guilty of taking their foot off the peddle and Tom Chester had to put his body on the line to slow the visitors attack. Pontes back row of Aitor Gonzalez, Scott Hawkins and Joe Morgan put in a series of bullocking runs but didn,t get the support in sufficient numbers. Dinnington turned the ball over and alert defense from Ben Jones saved a certain score. This was Dinningtons best spell and despite a series of good tackles from the pack, Brownsword and young Nick Calvert to the fore the visitors drove over the line for Jordan Blakemore to score a good try which was goaled. 20-13. As the scores narrowed Pontefract were stung into action and played the rugby in the visitors half.
