Pontefract u14's v Sheffield Tigers u14's

Sheffield Tigers struggled to contain the running power of Pontefract as they dominated the game from start to finish. The first try was slickly completed by Ben Mason who was put through the gap with a great pass from Jude Longstaff and almost instantly from the kick off this was extended as Mason out paced the defense to score under the posts. It was all to easy for the running power of Pontefract as Marshal Brown, Alfie Abbott, and Will Smith all added tries and on the 28th minute Mason completed his hat-trick. In all of the dominance Sheffield proved to have resilience and never gave up in the tackle or ruck area.  The second half brought sterner test for Pontefract as Sheffield's defense put Pontefract under more pressure and mistakes were made, and Pontefract began to defend very narrow and it was only the scrambling defense that saved Pontefract. Aaron Bailey proved strong in the tackle when moved up into center and openside Jex dominated the ball on the ground, it wasn't long before Sheffield's before Brandon muscled his way over to extend the lead to 45-0. Sheffield were determined to cross the line before they left Pontefract and they did so when Pontefract's defense got caught napping and they scored in the corner. The final try fell to Tom Webley scoring from 20 meters out. Captain of the day Ethan Grant kicked 5 conversions bring the final score to 50-5. Stand out players were Will Smith who delivered a strong all-round game and Ben Mason who score a wonderful hattrick. Pontefract will have a stern test next week as Malton and Norton visit Moor Lane.
